Course Overview:
If You're a Nursing major, this class is highly recommended! It is not extremely difficult but like all math deserves a little TLC. The math lab is a big help for when you are stuck on the class, the tutors are excellent and the professor does a nice job of explaining.
Course highlights:
The highlights of this class for me were studying in the math lab and having study groups in the same class. The math is not to difficult but you will need to practice and learn a lot of formulas. Other than that I loved making flash cards to study and asking for help in the math lab.
Hours per week:
6-8 hours
Advice for students:
pay attention in class! sit in the front! Do not stop going to math lab and turn everything in on time! As soon as you think you are struggling, don't be afraid to ask for help!
Not too easy. Not too difficult.
Course Overview:
I would recommend this course with this professor because the course itself isn't that hard. The course was required for my major but it is very helpful if you are going to take statistics I in the future. The professor does an amazing job of teaching this course.
Course highlights:
As I said many of the things you learn hear will be seen again in Statistics so if is a great class to have taken.
Hours per week:
3-5 hours
Advice for students:
Do not be afraid to ask question. The professor is extremely helpful and only wants you to succeed.
Not too easy. Not too difficult.
Course Overview:
I recommend this course because it teaches you mathematics and statistics in a way that is applicable to real life situations. It is also a great course if you plan to go into sciences which require statistics because you will eventually have to take statistics for science or business statistics if you're pursuing a business degree. Either way, Finite Math thoroughly prepares students for their future endeavors.
Course highlights:
The highlight of this course was learning probability and statistics in a way that applies to the real world. The problems are relevant and interesting. It was a plus for students who tend to struggle with mathematics.
Hours per week:
3-5 hours
Advice for students:
You need to attend class, and listen to the professor. Also, read the lessons on your own before class, so that you have a bit of background knowledge and are not overwhelmed by content. Also, attend tutoring at your school, and all review sessions (even if they are on weekends). This will help immensely. Lastly, study, study, and STUDY! If you are consistent, then you will be fine.
