Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The class is amazing, and Dr. Sharp's teaching still keeps you intrigued with the learning material and grasps your hunger for learning and makes you want more.

    Course highlights:

I learned all about parasites that are of medical importance, and of some that aren't medical importance.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Whatever is on the powerpoint that Dr. Sharp is teaching in class will definitely be in the test, as well as any videos that he does show.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Professor Sharp is my favorite professor from FIU. He made sure that we had fun while learning so much during each lecture and lab. I try to recommend his course to everyone that needs a Biology elective!

    Course highlights:

I can still tell you the life cycles of many different parasites that I learned about through this course, and I took this back in 2015! Taking the lab along with the lecture really helped me understand, as it was a better hands on experience.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Study the life cycles and the spelling of each parasite. There are a couple that are very similar, so it's important to draw out each cycle and practice.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would highly recommend this course to anyone. I learned so much and the class was very interesting and fun. It was one of the best classes I have ever taken.

    Course highlights:

The best part about this course was learning all about the different types of parasites and how they reproduced and infected their host. I learned that parasites are constantly evolving, as well as their host.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

I would recommend using flashcards to keep track of all the different parasites. You should know where they are found, which host they infect, the diseases they cause, and how they infect the host.
