It teaches you the basic knowledge and skills a nurse is required to know in order to excel and pass the NCLEX which gives you the license to practice as a registered nurse. The clinical aspect exposes one to the skills required to perform on the job as a registered nurse.
It teaches you critical thinking in nursing practice. Others are professional standards in nursing practice, the psychosocial and physiological basis for nursing practice, health and wellness, caring for families etc.

Study the different topics chapter by chapter and test your knowledge by answe ring q-bank, Kaplan questions etc. The textbook is fundamentals of nursing by Potter and Perry.
