    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The class will repeatedly "blow your mind" in terms of gaining literary understanding and drastically improving the skills surrounding the writing process.

    Course highlights:

Listening to Mrs. Stippel talk about each of the works we read with such passion, pushing me to contemplative thought as well as understanding, and growing as a person as a result - not to mention her sprinkle of humor which never failed to keep me engaged.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Be prepared to complete a great deal of work! However, don't fret because unlike the majority of other high school classes, it's valuable and you will learn a great deal. Never let yourself fall behind because the work piles up quickly.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It is filled with extremely interesting books that will help learners navigate through their understandings of themselves and society and develop great essay skills and become a successful writer.

    Course highlights:

Reading invisible man was extremely challenging but teaches learns an extreme amount about oppression and forces students to truly immerse themselves in text and write well thought out essays making everyone a far better writer.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

It is not for a slacker at all it's definitely for someone dedicated to do the work to obtain the knowledge they wish to have.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend it because with Mrs. Ogdie as my teacher, I have become successful. She throughly goes through every learning target and argumentative prompt for the class.

    Course highlights:

One highlight is the poetry presentation we have to do each semester. I learned so much about each poet, their generation, and how they impacted and influenced our society in the past and now.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Always be sure to write down dates in the coming week for essays. etc.f otherwise, you may forget and ultimately have no time but the night before to finish a big project or essay
