    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Biology with Mr. Pullen was a struggle. His quizzes are meant to test you on whether you fully understand the material and the expectation is that you take your learning into your own hands and learn it all the first time around. It really helps students grow as learners and get out of their comfort zone. It should teach you to ask for help when you need it and to go to outside resources to help you better understand the material.

    Course highlights:

As mentioned before, you learn to make good study habits and to not rely on the teacher to spoon feed you everything. You have to go out and find what sort of things help you best understand the material.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Study. If you get new notes, go home and study them. If you did notes a week ago, study them. You need to study to fully understand the material. Making connections for yourself will also help you best understand the material in depth. Don't be afraid to ask for help either.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would highly recommend biology to anyone who is into the human body or overall plants and animals. This course gives you great background knowledge about living organisms. Even if you are really not a science type of person, this course is cool because you get to learn more about the world around you and even yourself!

    Course highlights:

My favorite part of this class was probably the cancer project. We were required to do a research project on a cancer of our choosing. This was a very interesting project to me especially since I am going into the medical field. I also loved this project because we had a chance to think of a cure that does not already exist for that particular type of caner. Overall this project really got me thinking and was a lot of fun.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

If I could tell students anything about this course it would be to make sure you take notes. If you do not take notes then you will not do well on tests or quizzes because there is a lot of material to memorize and there is no way you can memorize it all without writing it down.

    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I never liked science but if you are into Biology and nature this would be a fun class for you. It is challenging at some parts but as long as you take notes and listen you will be okay.

    Course highlights:

Some of the highlights of this course were when we went on small bus trips to visit nature and take notes on what we saw. That was a very fun and exciting way to learn and also get outside for a while.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you pay attention to what the teacher is saying and get involved in classroom discussions. The more you discuss the better you will understand the topic at hand.
