Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

If you plan on entering a field anything science or are searching for a mind-boggling experience, take organic chemistry. It will not only get you a head start in college(assuming you are taking it in high school), but will also answer life's biggest mysteries(I am not exaggerating).

    Course highlights:

A highlight is definitely getting to know the teacher. She is such a charismatic and vivacious individual. The course itself had its challenges, but nothing impossible(I am speaking from high school experience). Since the class is only a semester long, we spent our time with the basics... carbon, naming, alcohols, functional groups, etc. In my class, we made alcohol with distilling contraptions... obviously we couldn't drink it because well, it's not sanitary(and we are underage). All in all, fantastic experience and I'm sad it's coming to a close.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Everything you learn is built from the next so don't learn and then forget. Just learn, learn, and learn because there is a lot to know in Organic Chemistry. The class is as hard as you make it, so pay attention in class, work hard on the labs, and don't be scared to ask questions.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

If you are interested in chemistry or science at all, this class is great! The lectures are very interesting, and there are lots of engaging labs. I have learned much about chemistry while still having fun.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of this course was definitively when we made and distilled alcohol. Once we got it to a flammable concentration, we used to to make flaming cheese which was delicious. Through the lab we learned about the process of fermentation and how organic molecules interact with each other.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't blow it off, but have fun doing it. It's a course that can challenge you, but if you put in the effort it is very rewarding.
