Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I highly recommend taking this course due to the great amount of exposed one can received to the variety of religious writings that are believed around our world and how the writing we use to this day has been established piece by piece. Not only do you get to explore different writing strengths from writing mideval poetry to researching topics from Islamic faith for research papers, you get to find a passion for your own unique style writing your own children's book. I was able to learn and enhance my writing style greatly throughout this full year course.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course was being able to evaluate my own writing skills closely while being able to show my creative side. I was able to tell my story in a assignment through a children's book, write funny poems that established my basis from different rhymthic patterns. I was able to look into the different lifestyles of different religious writings that fascinated me about all the cultures I wasn't truly aware of before I read their types of literature. I was exposed to a new world of literature that I enjoyed greatly.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

I encourage students to engage and put in participation within group discussions and group times about the work you are reading and analyzing due to how much information on life, society, and literature you can truly take in. This literature not only teaches you about the world, it teaches you about yourself.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Going into this course, public speaking was not one of my strengths. However, now that I have taken the course I have become a much more confident speaker. We studied vocabulary and techniques used during speeches. We also studied each other, giving feedback on things we did well while delivering our speeches and things we could improve on.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to be a more confident speaker. Each speech was graded based on posture, filler words, overall presentation, etc. I felt that seeing where I needed to improve on paper helped me to improve the next time I delivered a speech.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Study your vocabulary! In the beginning I chose not to study my vocabulary because I thought I knew it, but I was not too happy receiving a 60% on a quiz when it should have been an easy 100%. Take the time to practice your speeches. When I practiced my speeches, I found I did much better and was more confident than when I chose not to.

    Advice for students:

This class is a great way to not only write creatively, but to learn to cope with stage fright.
