Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Introduction to Short Story Writing is a fun and engaging class. St. Clair is helpful and kind, easy to talk to.

    Course highlights:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Imagination is key and know how to structure a story. Some of the kids in my class had obviously never opened a book in their entire life.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This is a great course for anyone who wants the essentials of fiction writing, and wants to see his or her writing through the same scope as a short story.

    Course highlights:

A highlight was sharing and peer-editing our own short stories. From this I learned several factors that drive a story and how to utilize them.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't procrastinate on your story, give yourself as long as possible to draft and redraft, it'll exponentially improve the story and your learning experience.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

If an individual is interested in writing, particularly creative writing, this is an extremely valuable experience. You learn the components of short story writing, but you also learn how to both give and receive constructive criticism in a learning environment.

    Course highlights:

In this course, we had to write our own short story. I was very terrified of this. I had no experience with creative writing, and I was afraid of doing everything wrong. As it turns out, crafting your own short story can be a lot of fun, especially when you get over your fears. It was wonderful to see how the story shifted and changed as it was revised.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

There is a lot of writing, but don't let that scare you away! Most of the writing is of your own story, and that tends to get better as you go along.
