    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class is an excellent challenge for the dedicated student. The teacher assigns both book and lab work to keep you busy in and out of the classroom. Students are expected to work independently: the teacher is there for help, but will not help those who don't attempt to help themselves. Lab work makes up at last half of the class, so be prepared to retry experiments over and over again until you receive suitable data. This class is fairly math heavy, but does not typically require more than algebra skills. Basic physics and chemistry knowledge are very helpful assets to this course.

    Course highlights:

I really developed skills in theorizing as well as bouncing ideas off of colleagues from this class. I was quick to learn proper time management as well, what with all of the assignments I was given! The teacher was an invaluable asset of the class: he is always there to help any student who is struggling in any way. This class of course widened my knowledge of the chemistry world as a whole.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Time management will make or break your success in this class. It is very important to get help as soon as you feel you need it. If you wait, you will fall behind. Not all topics require background information to learn, and not all topics are equally difficult. Bring a calculator and notebook to class every day. Do the readings, do the homework, do the labs. Each will help you immensely on tests and in future labs!
