Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It is an amazing learning experience, if you think your calling in life is to help animal patients. It is very difficult, and emotionally exhausting at time because of some cases. However, for the person that loves animals, will love this course.

    Course highlights:

I liked hands on learning such as restraints, administering of vaccines, and the taking of history. Learning on software is great too. Learning Medical Terminology helps you a lot also with this course for the specific field.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Do not slack at all. This course asks a lot of you, you need to learn things that are both mental and physical. If they say study, study. If you're unsure about something, do not feel shy to ask, even if the response is negative.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The vet assisting course is just a foot into the door of the field of veterinary medicine! Over my four years in high school I learned many things from different breeds of dogs, animal restraint, vaccinations and the vaccination sights, medication, and even how to run an x-Ray machine!

    Course highlights:

The biggest highlight to this course was definitely when we were allowed to work hands on in the clinic on sight! That's where we got to put all that we learned from the books into play, and actually gets hands on expierence.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely pay attention to what the teachers tell you, and the many procedures that you have to go through to get the finished product, whether it be a blood smear or setting up for surgery, following steps is very important.
