    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

AP European History is more than just a simple history class. This course established the foundation for historical context evaluation, document analysis, and bias indication skills that I not only have used in other social studies classes, but even when observing current events around the world. The material itself is interesting, but being able to connect each historical event to another, broader theme is an invaluable skill when it comes to learning about any category of history.

    Course highlights:

Along with learning the history of Europe, from the rise and fall of empires, to the many revolutions of France, to the political motivations of both World Wars, this class was an excellent introduction to analytical thinking. Due to the many different nations and cultures condensed into Europe, every major historical event has a ripple effect that forever alters the story of the continent in a physical, social, or political sense. Learning to answer questions and write on the subject of these complex domino-like events is a skill that can be applied to any liberal arts course.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Read! To best absorb the material, try to read and annotate as many primary sources as possible. This will not only give you historical knowledge, but also a perception on how a certain event can affect different walks of life, depending on the author of the document.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This is a fantastic history class, especially if you want to know more outside of our own young country. And Mr. Meade is a great teacher!!!

    Course highlights:

The bloodlines and intermarriages throughout Europe were extremely interesting to me, as well as the types of music and scientific advances.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely study your heart out. Teachers are very unforgiving and exams are nearly impossible. But you'll get through it!
