Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class focuses on the different parts of human society around the world and answers the how and why they developed the way they did. This was an overall fun and interesting class to be in, especially if you have ever wondered what exactly makes a society function the way they do. This class also was able to expose me to various cultures around the world and because of this, I feel that I have learned much more than the standard course curriculum.

    Course highlights:

Some highlights of this class included learning about the different faiths around the world and learning why some civilizations would fall, while others would live on. Learning about the different faiths around the world allowed me to reach an understanding of the people that believe in these faiths and made me more aware of the many different perspectives on life. Learning about what makes a civilization thrive or fall allowed me to learn why some ways of human interaction and placement work while others do not. Another highlight for the course was that it was highly interactive, making it an overall fun and engaging experience.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

In order to succeed in this class, you must pay attention, and take short and to the point notes. This is because the course has a lot to cover, so the class goes by fairly quickly. It will also help to get the AP Baron's book for Human Geography because many of the concepts in this class will be difficult to understand and with how fast paced the class can sometimes be, it can be even more difficult to fully understand concepts. In light of this, I would also recommend reading a little bit of either the textbook or the Baron's book as often as possibly, so that you may be better prepared for tests and quizzes.
