This class was tough.
Course Overview:
I would highly recommend this class! Not specified above, the course I took was honors (therefore, slightly more challenging), but Mr. Gagnier did an excellent job. This class not only prepared students for Calculus, but focused on alleviating stress through repetition and cooperation. For example, Mr. Gagnier gave quizzes almost every class, and while this was frustrating at first, he used this as an opportunity to teach students how and when to study, that practice gives you a better chance at succeeding, and that one bad grade in the books is not something that should scare you as a good student.
Course highlights:
I gained a basic knowledge in precalculus level math. From a generic perspective this class pulls together math from geometry, algebra, trigonometry and more while showing you how it will be elevated and applied to calculus as well as how it came to be.
Hours per week:
9-11 hours
Advice for students:
You will succeed if you put in the time and effort. Using your free time at school to get assistance from Mr. Gagnier is always a good idea because he is very willing to help and provide you with the materials you need to succeed.
This class was tough.
Course Overview:
Must be willing to dedicate much more time to math during this course. Precalculus often involves new abstract thinking from other courses in high school. Perseverance is vital also!
Course highlights:
During precaclulus I learned things I never had even known existed. I learned about optimization, matricies, derivatives and much much more!
Hours per week:
6-8 hours
Advice for students:
Stay focused during class and do your homework consistently. Review a ton before big tests and quizzes
