    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The professor teaches the fundamentals and makes every effort to give examples in class that are different from those given in the textbook. Otherwise, the course follows the text; providing students the fundamentals of general chemistry that are required to move on to many other more advanced science courses. Be aware that the curve in this course is intended to filter out a certain proportion of students, and don't be afraid to seek help from the excellent TAs.

    Course highlights:

I solidified my knowledge of acids and bases, thermochemistry, and learned about various real life examples and applications of what we covered in class.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Keep up with the material by reviewing lecture notes. Practice with the assigned problem sets and supplement them with further problems from the textbook.
