    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Her teaching is concise and interesting. She uses real life examples and always keeps us engaged with demonstrations and anecdotes. Understandably, it's extremely hard to keep all 300 invested in a weed-out class, but she certainly made me want to pursue pre med more!

    Course highlights:

I personally loved the plants section; I never knew there were so many things to learn about them! Honestly, I thought photosynthesis was all there was, but I did not know there were also so many adaptations plants use to survive.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Every professor tells you to read the textbook. Every student tells you not to--it's a waste of time. This is what I do: don't read the textbook before class (unless you're curious of course); a lot of things the teacher won't touch upon and it would mean more confusion and stress for you if you don't understand. Instead, read the textbook after class, and before a test. Multiple times. It's how I got an A and how you would be able to too.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This is an excellent introductory course for anyone interested in biology and science in general. It introduces various topics in a way that is interesting and nurtures curiosity in students. The lab component of the course additionally teaches students important lab skills that will be useful in the future.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course are the lab experiments that we engage in. We had the opportunity to design our own experiment to test the diversity of micro biomes. We learned a lot about micro organisms and their diversity.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would recommend staying on top of the readings for this course. Do the readings before coming to lecture so that you are prepared for what the teacher will be talking about. Then, that same day after lecture, review your notes so that information is processed and retained.
