    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would not recommend this course because it is very hard to interpret and make sense of. However, it is a required course so it has to be taken anyway.

    Course highlights:

I did learn some things about statistics. I was able to refresh the probability skills that I had learned in high school math classes. I also learned how to use the statistics program JMP, which I think is a good skill to have.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely reading the book will help, since the lectures are very hard to understand. Don't write off the lectures completely, however. If you play close attention you can probably get some information out of them. However, I think it's very important to spend a lot of time reading and going to office hours. Asking questions and working through problems together are going to provide a lot of clarity. Another tip is getting a tutor. It is nothing to be ashamed of and, as your advisor will tell you, most of the kids that end up doing really well, do well because they got a tutor.
