Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The writing seminar is a tedious course, but it is required. Despite this I would still recommend this specific course because it's an interesting topic and the class atmosphere was great, which I think is caused by the openness that discussions about gender and society provoke. I also think improving one's writing skills is important, so it is beneficial to take a writing seminar.

    Course highlights:

For me, the highlight of this course was seeing the finished draft of my literature review. I had written research papers but never the way the literature review is supposed to be written. I had used scholarly sources to gather information for my paper, but I had never written a paper synthesizing the sources themselves. It was exciting to learn this new skill and I was happy to see the progress I made with this skill in my final paper.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would advise setting aside ample time for assignments, because it can be more work than you expect. There are also a lot of resources you can use for this such as office hours and the Marks Family Writing Center, which I would highly recommend as sometimes the assignments are 100% clear.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The food is fairly decent. However, they force freshman to have a food plan and a lot of people don't like thatCurrently, I live in Hill which is known as the worst possible dorm on campus. Underage drinking for example is enforced very much so throughout campus.

    Course highlights:

The quad is also a great option for freshman. The high-rises are the most desired place on campus but hardly any freshman get in there so I wouldn't recommend applying there (as a freshman). Plus the high-rises don't offer a great social environment for freshman trying to meet people.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

However, if it weren't for this dormitory I would never have met so many incredible people. It is a hub for freshman and it is definitely one of the best places to meet people. Unfortunately, it doesn't have A/C so it is a rough couple of weeks in the beginning of the school year.
