    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course was very difficult and required a lot of work. The lectures were not engaging and Prof. Percec spoke very quietly. Can do well if you put in effort though.

    Course highlights:

You learn many mechanisms and reactions. Useful for graduate schools tests like the MCAT or DAT.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Study his old exams! He reused a lot of questions. Also flashcards are great study tool. I would also recommend buying a small whiteboard to practice drawing out arrow pushing mechanisms.

    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Organic chemistry is notoriously difficult so if you have to take it, then try your best from the beginning to score high on each exam because it is hard to catch up once you fall behind on the material. It is a course that tests the strength (including consistency) of your study habits more than it tests your knowledge of organic chemistry.

    Course highlights:

The highlight was the final, which seemed surprisingly easier than the midterms. I think I thought the final was easier because by the time the final came I was more familiar with the material. I learned that even though, throughout the semester, the recitation worksheets, problem sets, and practice exams seemed useless relative to the textbook, they are probably the richer source of exam-like problems.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to recitation and the review sessions. Do the problem sets and practice exams and go to office hours. Devote some substantial number of hours every week to practice and don't let the material pile up.
