Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I enjoyed the course. We read a few books and learned a lot about rhetorical analysis and why people do the things that they do in their writing or even in documentaries or movies.

    Course highlights:

I really enjoyed writing papers and our final synthesis prompt paper. It was really fun. We got to make our own AP prompts and respond to them.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Work hard! Do not slack off. Do your homework and study for quizzes to succeed!

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Professor Murray is a very good teacher and she is very thorough with her lessons. Every week, she makes sure we get every piece of information needed for what we are doing in class or learning. She also makes class fun and I am always engaged in what she is saying.

    Course highlights:

For our midterm, we watched a video of Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I've Been to the Mountaintop" speech and wrote a paper in class. This was a good way to keep us awake and made us listen so we could write the paper. Another plus was that we could write about whatever we wanted (within reason) and she never gave us a specific topic unless it was for a small in-class activity. The deadline for papers are definitely reasonable. They were never too short and she always made sure we were told specifically the dates and that we were organized with the dates.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

To succeed in English 111, you need to have plenty of stories and have an open mind. There isn't really any studying involved. It's pretty much all research. There are no quizzes or tests, because the midterms are just papers about a speech or a speific topic. Other than that you can write about whatever you want. Just make sure you do the research and DON'T wait until the last minute to do your papers! That is the worst thing you can do to yourself, especially when you get into CABs. Enjoy and write away!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would definitely recommend this course because we wrote so much, and it was challenging. I learned so much.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course was watching Dr. Martin Luther King's speeches and analyzing them.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not start writing papers the night before they are due. Write them early, and ask Professor Murray to review them.
