Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because technology is becoming more and more prevalent in our society today and learning just a little information about computers and programming could lead to more job opportunities.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of the course were the projects we had that incorporated information we were learning in class. Also, the programming contest held in class was probably the main highlight of the course because it was fun and provided extra credit. I learned a lot in this class but main information I learned was the programming language called C++.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't wait till the last minute to work on assignments or projects because they are difficult. Go to professor or TAs office hours as much as possible to firmly grasp the concepts being taught throughout the class.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Loved this course! Definitely challenging and forces you to think outside of the box to create your own unique solution to the different challenges you have to face.

    Course highlights:

I gained a high level of understanding C++ programming language. Dr. Gaitros is a phenomenal professor and extremely knowledgable. Although he 'kicks you out of the nest early,' he encourages you to quickly open your wings and fly in your efforts to understand programming. Being able to start from a blank screen and create a program that solves a given solution is an experience I will never forget.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

My advice is to program a little bit everyday. If you can't, don't sweat it, but that's how you get the most out of the course. Definitely program at least once every few days, even if it's just something basic. It is a completely new language, so regular practice is key. This professor is also extremely approachable, so if you ever run into any difficulty you can go to his office hours or to the tutoring center on campus. There are plenty of resources to help you succeed!
