Pretty easy, overall.
Course Overview:
STA2023 is an extremely interesting low-level math class that would suit anyone's fancy. The information is easy to retain, and most problems can be solved by simple common sense. I would highly recommend this class to someone with no background in statistics.
Course highlights:
In STA2023, real world situations are presented to us which makes solving these problems much more realistic and enjoyable. Calculating probability distribution is one of the most important things I learned while taking this class, and has real implications in the working world. Probability can be used to decode cryptic languages, track sports stats, and can even be used to predict mortality rates worldwide. Enrolling in this course is as close to working-world problems as one can get.
Hours per week:
3-5 hours
Advice for students:
Note-taking is crucial in fundamental statistics. The information is fairly easy to retain and memorize, but that does not mean one can take a break from practice problems or studying. The more one reads over their notes and applies them to the practice problems, the more successful one will be.
