Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The professor is excellent, and you learn a lot of material in a very effective way (interesting lectures)

    Course highlights:

The professor used a lot of real-life examples, which made the economic concepts much more easy to understand

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Be prepared to take good notes, as most of the test material comes from lectures

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

This class is super easy! Professor Calhoun was one of my favorite professors my freshman year at FSU. I had him for ECO2013 as well. He gives a lot of quizzes online and 4 tests roughly. His midterm is online and his final is in class. His final is okay, as long as you study all the quizzes and tests that you do online, you should be fine. Participation counts!!! He does Tophat which is sort of like clicker questions but on your phone. If you do them then it reduces the weight of your final which is awesome. He gives a lot of extra credit so take advantage. He also does SecondLife which is a virtual world online which uses economic ideas in the real world. Super easy, take 10 minutes each. These SecondLife modules are a lot of points so don't miss one! He gives roughly 3 assignments online where you have to do research and go to some websites. He gives you step by step instructions, so they are easy as well. Overall, this class, along with ECO2023 are GPA boosters. I took both these classes for my business major because they are required.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot from this course. He goes over every economic principle there is, but don't be alarmed, he goes into depth and makes it really easy to understand. I studied about a week for the final and I've never learned so much information in my life. Having a professor that really cares about his students makes it 10x better. Even though this is a huge lecture class, if you go to his office hours he treats you like he's known you forever.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

The quizzes and tests are online and all the answers are online as well if you look for them. However I do NOT recommend looking up the answers and you should actually study for them. This might seem annoying, but it will make the final so much easier for you. The final is very in depth and specific, skimming through the book or his powerpoints will get you a F!! I recommend going to Skoolers (a tutoring center) on campus for the final. There are two sessions (3 hours each) and the tutor goes over everything in 2 days. However, after these sessions you should still study yourself for several more days. Ended up getting an A on the final because of this.
