    | Probably wouldn’t recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I’d recommend taking this course as a basis for most scientific fields. It’s general chemistry knowledge, a small step above the basics. Be prepared for a lot of studying though.

    Course highlights:

The best part of the course was the three days that each of the TAs taught. They presented their area of study and mentioned some of the real life applications of chemistry they use in their research.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Study every day! Make sure to review everything you learn each day. When there’s an assignment, start early! There are a lot of problems that are impossible to do in one day. Plus, if you start the problems early, you’ll be studying and practicing over time.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I loved the class but the professor was rough... Extremely tough grader with exam averages around 60 and they're 60% of the grade.

    Course highlights:

Learning the processes behind what makes our everyday materials work the way they do is what I enjoyed most.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

STUDY! Do practice problems ahead of time and DO WELL ON THE EXAMS.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Kearley is a brilliant lecturer and an organic chemist at heart. Rather than leaving the math alone, he makes difficult concepts more clear to visual learners by making connections between equilibrium constants and tangible physical attributes.

    Course highlights:

In this course, I learned that being a chemistry student requires a complicated combination of open-minded visual learning and a willingness to apply advanced mathematics to solve problems.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

If you take this course, keep up with the notes and pay attention to Dr. Kearley. If you don't plan on keeping your phone away just don't show up.
