This class was tough.
Course Overview:
The course is challenging but I personally like a challenge.
Course highlights:
The main focus of this course is integrals and applying integration. I learned several different methods of evaluating integrals and i also learned about series and how to determine whether the series converged or diverged.
Hours per week:
9-11 hours
Advice for students:
Go to office hours and do the readings before class. The material is difficult on its own but if you don't do the readings, you will be even more confused. It is also important to do plenty of practice problems outside of class and normal homework.
Not too easy. Not too difficult.
Course Overview:
The reason I recommend this course, especially with this professor, is that he made me enjoy math again. Since pre-calc in high school, I haven't enjoyed math but this semester I've really enjoyed this class.
Course highlights:
Just being in the class was an awesome experience. Dr. Musslimani really cared about us learning and understanding the material, always emphasizing us to study for our careers and not for the exams. Having a professor like this was really encouraging and I think the top reason why I enjoyed the class so much. I learned about Calculus but I also learned some interesting real life applications and examples of math as well that I'd never thought of before.
Hours per week:
0-2 hours
Advice for students:
Do the homework and work with him through examples. The homework and the examples he works in class are similar to questions he puts on the exams. Also, volunteer to go up and solve problems on the board. Even if you didn't get the answer right, it was a great way to learn and a way to have a one on one interaction with the professor in a classroom setting.
This class was tough.
Course Overview:
Fenley understood the material so well and he was amazing when it came to talking with him one on one when you didn't understand something.
Course highlights:
I learned so much about integration and understood more why you did the things you do instead of doing them the long way
Hours per week:
6-8 hours
Advice for students:
DO THE HOMEWORK the night it is assigned and study the problems!!!
