Pretty easy, overall.
He gives you everything you need to do well in the class, including extra credit, and a dropped exam. He posts an objectives sheet with the material that we need to focus on, a practice exam, and powerpoint slides. You don't need to buy the textbook!
Some of the lectures were actually really interesting, in regard to heredity and diseases. Dr. Bates is a nice guy and really prepares you for every exam. If you listen to him in class, you should do well.

I actually listen and take notes on his lectures. Focus on the extra stuff he says, the i-clicker questions, and the practice exam he posts and you have most of the exam material right there.
