    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Through this course, I found my passion for biology. Dr. Achilly taught the class in such a way that I was completely immersed into the material and I wanted to learn more (emphasis on more). The work load can get quite tough, but it is an AP course and she prepares you for that exam very well!

    Course highlights:

The highlights of the course was the labs. Of course, it is nothing like the common chemistry labs that consist of erlenmeyer flasks and chemicals from all over the periodic table. But the labs done in this class required more analyzing and cognitive thinking rather than methodic steps one typically sees in a chemistry lab. Granted, I took both biology and chemistry AP courses so I speak from experience.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

A tip for this course would be to help each other, especially when it came to those extremely tedious study guides Dr. Achilly would hand out in the beginning of the unit and expects by the unit test. By helping each other, you get so much done in such a short amount of time which definitely helps you with the work load for the course.
