Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I recommend because learning about your brain and why you think and behave a certain way is very important to understanding life.

    Course highlights:

Social psychology is very interesting and by far the most important and exciting topic to learn about. It taught me how people interact with each other to better how I interact with other people. The baby book project during child development really helps with understanding the various concepts on how child development and how childhood has such a tremendous and lasting impact on adult life. Cognitive and behavioral psychology were very interesting as well because you learn and understand why people act and think a certain way and it helps better how they act and think to help you become a better person.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Put effort into your notecards because they come in handy when preparing for the AP exam. Read the textbook and study your notes carefully!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I love this class. Mrs. Noland finds a way to tell us some interesting, real or fake, story to grab our attention, which really helps me to remember terms, especially on tests. We also do many fun activities which helps the information stay in my brain much better than just reading the book and taking notes.

    Course highlights:

I gained an insight to psychology. I learned about the different psychological perspectives and about different disorders. I also learned about sensation and perception and even how the whole idea of psychology started.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Study. Find ways to make things personal or make a funny story that you can remember, it will help you to recall information on tests. Make up a song that is catchy. Flashcards with pictures.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class a million times. Not only was it interesting and fun, but I still to this day use so much what I learned in my everyday life. The work load was never too much, but it always ensured that I was learning the material and thoroughly prepared me for what college classes will be like and how to independently study.

    Course highlights:

I learned about personality disorders and the way the brain and body is set up. There was a lot more to the class, but theses things stuck out in particular. Learning these things help me to be a more compassionate person and to understand why people do the things they do and to be more lenient. When someone does something to you, it's nice to be able to understand the why behind it so you can react appropriately.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Take the class. Mr. Shaw is a great teacher that knows the material. Do what he says. Even if it seems trivial and not worth it, it is. You will learn the material and be completely prepared for the exam, and you will know how to prepare yourself for future exams.
