Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would most definitely recommend this course. In all my years of school, this class has by far taught me more about language and writing than any other language class I've taken.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to write better AP essays that were geared more toward a combination of AP writing requirements and a deeper understanding of text and meaning of everything I read.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't rely on dumb luck when it comes to this class. Show up every day prepared to learn and work hard. There isn't much homework but that doesn't mean students are able to procrastinate. Be organized and stay current om your work.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It's a tricky class, and the reading is not great. It is all worth it for the college credit though. I personally do not like analysis essays, but after this course I am far better at them.

    Course highlights:

I learned to analyze a text far better than I ever could on my own. Having to read a book and analyze rhetorical devices is a tricky suoject to do well. This class will teach you how.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Do you like reading? If so, this class is for you. It is a lot easier if you enjoy reading and want to analyze texts. If not, it is still worth the challenge.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Although the class is tough to pass with an A, i highly recommend taking any form of an AP English class while in high school. Whether it be AP Lit or Ap Lang, taking either or both of these classes will help you in English classes in college. This class definitely prepares you for the fast paced, independent study hours will you need to do in college. When taking timed writes, make sure to prepare yourself with your own evidence when doing HTML.

    Course highlights:

The highlights are definitely the socratic seminars that would be held at least once a month. They allow you to express your opinions about certain topics, while being able to see others' opinions on a certain topic as well. Also, the amount of narratives you read does get boring after a while, but really do you help you create evidence for future timed writes.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely make sure to do your own studying when it comes to preparing evidence for your timed writes. Doing independent studies will help you in come up with evidence quickly and won't have you panicking about what to write. Also, make sure to read atlas one or two narratives a week to improve your writing style.
