Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class because no matter where you go to college, you are most likely going to have to take at least one English class. The skills you learn in Comp 101 you will have to know to get through college. We learned how to do summary, position, and research papers which you will have to do in college in at least one of your classes. The skills you learn in this class will benefit you hugely. They are basic skills that you will need and are not hard to acquire.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of this class for me would have to be the information i received. I had written papers before but not to my fullest potential. This class helped me reach that level that I needed to be at. The level that will help me through college and future careers. Other highlights would be the connection with my teacher who worked his hardest on trying to help me and my peers understand how to write the perfect research paper.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

My advice would definitely be to plan ahead and work on managing time. There is nothing worse than procrastination, except for maybe not doing your work at all. Granted this specific teacher is easier on the grades but that does not mean that your college professors will. So I would recommend to work your hardest and write the best essays/papers you can. Also try to manage your time as wisely as you can.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I thought that it was a unique class which involved the students more than most English classes I've been in.

    Course highlights:

A lot about poetry and creative writing.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely do your work, its an easy enough class if you do all your homework and reading assignments, but if you don't then its an uphill battle for sure.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Great course in non-fiction literature, specifically current articles on global economics.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to write a well-construceted synthesis essay and also how to gain a better understanding of rhetoric as it relates to non-fiction essay writing.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Ask a lot of questions especially when preparing for the AP test (usually in May.) The way the test constructed allows little time for comprehension of the reading passages so you have to practice good reading comprehension skills under a time limit.
