Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course, as although it is extremely difficult to get an A, you will pass the AP exam without a problem. You get pushed so hard in this course that you are thankful when you reflect on how much you have learned by the end of the year! If you can put aside the mentality of needing to have all A's (and are willing to accept a B) then this course is for you; the knowledge you walk away with is far greater than you would expect.

    Course highlights:

Throughout this course, I learned a lot about myself as a writer and how to target my own weaknesses. Prior to this course, I had never been taught much about how to analyze my own work as if it is not my own. Learning my weaknesses was definitely a highlight for me, as it is so important to know where you need to work on to see growth!

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I would say that honesty is the best policy! Be honest with yourself on where you need help, and where you stand as far as the amount that you are investing into the class.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this course because it stretched my learning ability as a student. If it was not for this course, I would not be able to analyze work the way I do. Although when you first look at analyzing it's confusing, it really does help you to decode some harder texts and in everyday life as well. It is easy to see what someones real intentions or feelings are in maybe an email or a textbook. The course really helps you to pick out tone without having the text read out loud to you.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about looking at words for more than their literal content. Authors always have reasons for why they say what they do, and the class really helped me to find those reasons.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I did succeed but you really need to just practice reading a lot of texts. Although the course didn't focus on literature, it really is important to practice. In the end, the extra reading will do no less than benefit you and give you different perspectives on all topics and time periods.
