Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Biology is an integral science every high schooler must take before they graduate. If taught by the right personnel, then this subject can open one's eyes to a better understanding of life. After all, biology is the study of life. In addition to this, whether one is interested in science or not, this class will help develop a strong work ethic for it is rigorous in its nature.

    Course highlights:

If I leave with anything from this class, its a deeper appreciation for the sciences. Mrs. Ochs, the instructor, is a highly qualified, and very passionate woman who has been integral for my success in this class. She brings on an attitude and atmosphere conducive to learning, and I always leave the class with a greater appreciation for her work.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

This class definitely requires diligence and your full attention. Half an hour, at least, should be devoted to this class, whether it be reading the material before the lectures, or mastering the chapters leading up to the test, which often times combine several chapters. Full attention must also be given during lecture days, where the instructor will provide important information sometimes not included in the book.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Honors Biology opened my eyes to an in-depth view of the science of biology. I had the opportunity to take this class as a freshman in high school and I can say that I learned and retained a lot of the information we were taught. The class is an intro to biology at the Honors level, so students can expect to be introduced to brand-new information.

    Course highlights:

Mrs. Ochs not only teaches her students about the ins-and-outs of biology, but she teaches her students about work ethic and preparedness. I have grown to be a much more independent and effective learner due to the skills I've learned in her class.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Be proactive! If you as a student take the time to read prior to lecture, study the material and review after lecture, and complete the assigned work in a timely manner to prepare for assessments, you will be successful and will learn more than you could have ever imagined about biology.
