    This class was tough.

Dr. Restivo is a great teacher, and the course makes you a better writer.

    Course highlights:

I have become a better writer because of this course. All the essays and the timed writings make you better at organization, word choice, and flow to your writing.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't procrastinate! Spread your work out throughout the week so you don't get behind.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I highly recommend this course because the reading material assigned is challenging, but in the best way. We were assigned many different media like videos, articles, poems, pictures, and other forms of media. With every piece you read/analyze it by yourself first, then discuss with a partner, and then with the class. My class had some inspiring, serious, and awakening discussions. The workload is heavy, but you can find pleasure in most of the materials. Take this class!

    Course highlights:

One highlight was group reading projects. We got in small groups and read the same book or the same genre. We read specific sections and came to class with discussion topics to have a deep conversations about our books.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the books! Try your best on the essays!

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would definitely recommend this course for a few reasons: college credit, a challenging (yet fulfilling) class experience, and a great teacher.

    Course highlights:

My personal favorite book was The Handmaids Tale, read in third quarter. The discussions about media and women's issues were very interesting and intellectual.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Be prepared to work hard and do significant amounts of work on projects outside of class.
