    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it teaches you a lot about your health. It is also great for culinary students because it gives you an idea of what things are healthy and what are not.

    Course highlights:

The main highlight of this course was being able to learn about my health and how it passes on through genetics. While in this class you have to do a huge project where you look on your family members health and see if there are any similarities with yours. It was very cool to learn about!

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Do your project on time! Chef Kamp gives the project in parts, but it isn't due until all of it is done. My main advice to give you is to do each part when she gives it to you! If you don't you will fall behind and have to stay up finishing it the night before it is due!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

You get learn about your body, and the way certain foods, nutrients, vitamins, and minerals effects your body. Health conditions from family members can be changed by the way we eat and you can learn how to prevent all of those.

    Course highlights:

Looking into my diet and seeing how the way I eat could effect me in the future. Learning about vitamins and minerals and what they do for our body or what the deficiencies and toxicities can do to our body.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't slack off and put your assignments behind you. Be open-minded and ready to learn about how your body functions with the food we consume. Go to class, because if you miss a day it could really put you behind.
