    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course is for those that enjoy closely reading novels and applying the ideas in class to construct thesis statements in well written essays. It involved a lot of reading each night in order to stay with the class discussion.

    Course highlights:

At the beginning of the year, I wrote essays that would've scored a low 3 on the AP exam. My skills as a writer has greatly improved; I am now writing 6s and low 7s. Also, I originally scored a 26 on the ACT reading section and then scored a 33 on the next ACT. My reading comprehension has reached a new level and I can concisely and deeply write about themes and topics of a piece of writing.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the books; don't just use online sources because they do not provide discussion that is on the same level as the class'. If you do not read each night, then you will fall behind.
