Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course broadens your knowledge about ways to help the environment. Throughout the semester, the teacher uses many different learning techniques including hands on experiments, book-work, and power points on the active board to teach.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were learning and gaining insight on topics such as earth systems, the living world, water use, energy sources, pollution, and global change. One standout activity we did was collecting water from a local stream and testing it for certain chemicals.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Managing your time wisely, preparing for your assignments early, and not cramming at the last-minute will help lead to success in this class. Also developing motivation to achieve, staying organized, and studying the Barron's book will help to get good grades on the exams.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course was one of the most enjoyable I have taken during high school. My teacher really tried to teach us the material, while also keeping us interested in the class. We did lots of interesting labs and projects and we would even go outside sometimes. The course taught us a lot about what is happening to the planet and how humans have and continue to negatively affect it, but it also analyzed how we can fix these problems.

    Course highlights:

The highlights were definitely learning about how humans are adversely affecting the Earth but also how we could fix it. My teacher also got us to do a lot of hands on projects and let us down by our stream once to analyze the water and surrounding soil.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure to stay on top of your online chapter assignments. Read the chapters and get them done early in order to best prepare for your test. Same goes for projects, don't wait till last minute, start ahead of time and create something unique. Make sure to always pay attention to the teacher, especially during a lab, and don't be afraid to ask questions. But, the most important thing to remember is just to have fun.
