This class was tough.
Course Overview:
Because I took this course with another professor and i could not understand. this professor make it easier to learn using a different method when explaining the exercises. He made the student practice each exercise in a way that was understandable and also catchy. Calculus is a course that in a way or another the material learned is used in our daily basis .
Course highlights:
I learned derivatives, rate of change, average rate, differentiation & vertical and horizontal asymptote
Hours per week:
3-5 hours
Advice for students:
I will recommend always do the homework and practice it more than once. The process of learning the formulas is easier when writing the formulas on index cards. If the quiz did not go as good as you wanted, practice those exercises again and again that information will make it easier the next quiz.
This class was tough.
Course Overview:
Although this course was challenging and time-consuming, I have expanding my mathematical skills to heights I didn't think were possible. Unlike some math courses that I've taken in the past, Business Calculus was helpful in helping me understand how running a business truly works.
Course highlights:
I learned how to apply formulas to real life situations, such as how to calculate profit, how long it takes to break-even, and what the rate of change between high and low sale periods are. I also learned how to calculate the value of something 20 years ago as oppose to its cash value today.
Hours per week:
9-11 hours
Advice for students:
I advise that students take this course seriously and DO NOT procrastinate! Nothing that you do when it comes to your study is a waste of time. So don't get discouraged if you feel that you are spending too much time on this course. All your hard work does pay off in the end! If you are a business major (like myself), this is the last required math class! So give it all you've got, because it will prove to be worth it!
