Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The way professor Holness teaches is captivating! she is incredibly knowledgeable and easily awakened my curiosity towards chemistry in a brand new way!

    Course highlights:

What got my attention the most was the different types of chemical reactions there are and how different elements, polyatomic ions, etc, can come together to form brand new things

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

The class itself is awesome but Prof. Holness is very strict and tough on material. I recommend to truly put in an effort and study. If you do so then the class will be a lot of fun!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It teaches you the basics of chemistry. I took it with D. Dickson because I heard many wonderful things about her and they are all true. If you can take this course with her.

    Course highlights:

You learn tricks to help you with hard concepts.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Reinforce the material you are taught right away, go to tutoring and do all homework assignments

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would highly recommend this course for anyone having trouble with any science courses. When I have taken chemistry in high school, I knew nothing at all. So I was terrified in taking chemistry again. Honestly I was worried for no reason because this professor is thorough with her explanations. She calculates the formulas step by step and uses abbreviations to help simplify the problem or illustrates diagrams. If you have any questions, don't hesitate. Professor Jimenez will repeat herself and will follow along with you until you understand. Before taking the course, know a little bit about algebra because chemistry is full of mathematical equations.

    Course highlights:

While taking this course, I gained a wide variety of information that will be beneficial for any upcoming courses. The highlight of the whole experience is learning what exactly is the periodic table and what exactly it's illustrating. I learned about the metals, nonmetals and transition. Knowing that depending on the groups is how many electrons they lose or gain, and how to calculate how many electrons the transition metal oxidizes or reduce since it varies.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I would recommend knowing basic chemistry and practice the following problems at your own time. If you still have any issues, always contact the professor and go to her office hours for additional practices.
