Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It is a very useful course for you to take upper level math classes. It gives a good foundation for any other classes you will take.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about equations and triangles that I used everyday in upper level math

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Do your homework!!! It will help you greatly when it comes time to test.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class was the first time that I truly felt that math was useful. In this course you learn how to read the results of surveys mathematically and derive meaning from the numbers, which was not only educational, but fun as well. In the end you do a research project where you collect data about a topic you choose and then perform different hypotheses tests to see the significance of your data and come to a conclusion.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of this course for me was the final project because I was able to choose my own topic, (teen pregnancy in the United States), and come up with a conclusion about why the rate is so high in certain states and not others, and determine the overall financial impact of it on our nation's economy. Most of the class prepares you for this project as you learn different ways to test and read data in order to determine its significance.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

The way that I was able to study and get a good grade was through rewriting the notes in my own words. By looking through the packet of guided notes and picking out the really important aspects or ideas and then writing them in a way that was easier for me to remember and comprehend, I had a much easier time passing the tests and doing the homework.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This was one of the hardest courses I have ever taken. I would come in at six in the morning to retake a test. I never passed a test the first time and I took a very long time to understand each unit. Unless you were a math wiz, this is not a class for you.

    Course highlights:

I did learn a lot about probability which can help you get ahead in raffles and things of the sort in life. I also learned how to use a graphing calculator which is very helpful when you take SATs

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not lose focus! It's hard, but I still managed to pass with a B.
