    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class is the best class I've ever taken. I love history and the opportunity to learn from a teacher as excited about world history as Mr. Wike was a highlight of my sophomore year. Don't get me wrong, it's a difficult class, but when I applied myself to it I not only did well but I had a good time. The way it was taught for me was as a lecture based class, which I love, especially if the person lecturing is enjoying themselves and loves the subject.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of this course was all of the content that I was able to explore. Although the class is taught at a high speed (it's hard to fit all of world history into one year) I never felt like my knowledge was lacking. My favorite section was the lessons about ancient China and Russia, I gained an amazing amount of knowledge on a subject that I didn't know much about before, and that is geographically so distant from me. The essay writing aspect of this class also came in handy for me, especially on the ACT because I felt that my AP World History teacher helped me gain a better understanding of what makes a good essay than many of the English teachers I've had in the past.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely get your reading done! It's always good to be caught up in the class, but the book itself is well written and very interesting, so it's worth the read anyway.
