Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The class truly asks students to think broadly, but more importantly, analytically. No issue goes undiscussed in this course, and while many may not agree with Valentine's teaching, I think that being rough around the edges and motivating students to bite the bullet and push forth helps more than a teacher who lets students slack off.

    Course highlights:

Highlights of the course were definitely Valentine's eloquent lectures. However, calling the lectures undermines how interesting and engaging they were. Her talks intrigued me in the subject and motivated me to think critically and connect events.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

If you are considering this course, be prepared to do a lot of work. However, by the end you'll be able to tell the difference between your academic and intellectual abilities from the start to the present. You'll also become a much better writer, which will certainly help you in all your others classes.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I have never had such an inspirational teacher! Mr. Kelley pushed me, and showed me the true meaning of hard work. I don't think I would have been as hardworking of a student throughout the rest of my high school years if I didn't take this course.

    Course highlights:

The Jacksonian Era of history was a large part of this course. Majority of the information was older US history, and we didn't study much content after that 1960s.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you do your readings every night. They will carry you, and reading is genuinely the best study tool you can ask for.
