    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this course because it goes into the depth of biology and chemistry together. It combines everything at an advanced level and deeper understanding.

    Course highlights:

I gained a deeper understanding of signaling pathways and the cause for numerous reactions that happen in our bodies. I learned about the cause of diseases such as alzheimer's and cancers. As well as gaining a great depth of knowledge and understanding or proteins and how they function.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you have a good understanding of all the prerequisite courses before taking this class. It is a challenging course and you must study, study, study! Start your studying right away it will feel like an overload of information if you try to study last minute and you will not do well. This is the type of course that expects you to apply your knowledge not just memorize.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course has a lot of information that helps in other biology and chemistry courses, in addition to being a topic on many professional school exams.

    Course highlights:

I enjoyed learning about metabolism, which makes up the bulk of the material. We also learned about the individual macromolecules in detail before moving on to the metabolism of them.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Study a lot! It's probably one of the hardest courses I've taken in undergrad and it definitely requires a lot of work. It's doable to get an A but you have to work hard for it. She's always open for questions and if you need help so don't hesitate.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course was highly challenging and tested me on my ability to apply the material to real life situations rather than my ability to recall and memorize information.

    Course highlights:

Protein structure, metabolic pathways (catabolism and anabolism), chemical properties of bodily functions.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Think outside the realm of what you read in the book/notes. This class is all about seeing the overall picture of our biological functions and their chemistry.
