Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course helped me improve my public speaking skills and my techniques when writing a speech. I had given speeches before, but it is a whole different aspect when you are being graded on the way you speak.

    Course highlights:

The most important lesson I learned, was that you should never write your speech word for word. You should make an outline of the points you want to make in your speech and speak freely on the topic. Research is also an essential part of public speaking so you can speak freely on the subject and are knowledgeable if asked questions. My professor helped me to fix some nervous habits I had, such as swaying and playing with my hands.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Stay on top of your coursework and don't leave speeches for the last minute. A good presentation takes time and research.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class gives one the opportunity to do something that most people dread, speaking in public. Majority of people in the world feel nervous flutters when the thought of talking in front of peers comes to mind. This class allows students the opportunity to conquer those fears.

    Course highlights:

Throughout this course it has become easier for me to talk in front of my class mates. You get over the fears of wondering what everyone else will think. It has become easier for me to state my opinion in front of anyone. Not to mention, the teacher is wonderful!

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Be prepared. Study speeches. It will make your grade go up and anxiety go down. It isn't an easy course to take, but having someone to coach you along the way makes the class very enjoyable.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I believe that the main cause of success is communication. A lack of communication can cause many problems between you and your teacher, your boss, or even a friend. Having good communication skills will help you become successful in your career.

    Course highlights:

One highlight of this class is that I am becoming a better public speaker, which also makes me a better leader.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you keep up with the class and take advantage of it. Don't slack off, and use it to make you a better speaker, a better leader, and a better communicator.
