    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

AP U.S. History (also referred to as APUSH) focused on the entire course of US History, from when Columbus discovered America to present political times.

    Course highlights:

Dr. Stern gave little to no homework; the only homework he required from us was writing 12 essays throughout the year. These essays addressed AP essay questions that correlated to the chapter we were on.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't wait until last minute to start your essay. He usually teaches the material you need to know to write a good essay, so I would write the essay right after he teaches it just so that it's fresh in your mind as you're writing. You can also refer to notes from class.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I really enjoyed learning about history from such a vibrant and engaging teacher. It brought history, a subject that never really connected to me, to life.

    Course highlights:

I learned to love William Jennings Bryan. I learned how to take good notes. The highlights were the great class discussions. I really enjoyed being split into small groups and then debating with others.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Do the homework well, the way that she likes the format. She pays attention to that.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I feel that as Americans it is important to learn about the history of our country. After taking this course I have grown such an appreciation for it that I was willing to explore important historical sites as a vacation.

    Course highlights:

I feel that after taking this course I have developed better study habits. I study but not often, but with this course, I try to study whenever I can. Taking this course also made me more organized.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

There is a large amount of material for this particular course so just breathe and take it easy. Even if it may seem difficult, similar themes show up often throughout history. It's not a course that only requires to read; you also need to make connections between modern day and how it is influenced by history.
