Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

AP chemistry is a very through study of chemistry and segues well into college-level chemistry. However, it segues particularly well because of Mrs. Mancini's high level of expertise in the subject and simply her ability to teach the material clearly and thoroughly.

    Course highlights:

The best part of AP chemistry was really knowing that I could understand everything that was being taught to me and, if not, that a little textbook reading could easily remedy that.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Pay attention in class, because missing even one period of class can easily throw you off for the rest of the term. If it's already hard for you to pay attention, make sure that you get a seat in the front of the room, or else you may be tempted to daydream and miss out on important information.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Taking AP chemistry my senior year was definitely a struggle. However, thinking about the long term benefits of this class definitely got me through it. Wanting to pursue something in the medical field, I am bound to take multiple chemistry classes. I'm not going to say this class was easy because it definitely wasn't. However, Mrs.Mancini is definitely going to help you as long as you ask for it. I honestly believe that out of all the classes I took in high school, AP chem definitely helped me the most in terms of preparation for high school. I saved all of my notes so I can't wait to see how they will benefit me next year in college. Although taking this class wasn't ideal my senior year, my advice would be to still take it.

    Course highlights:

One thing that I felt really helped me in this course was learning how to write a lab report. Next year in college, I've heard that professors don't really go over how to write a proper report. Having my teacher teach us step by step how to complete a lab report is going to help me so much. Being together for a double period isn't something I loved my senior year, but we all definitely grew extremely close.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

I would personally tell students to focus on managing their time. Sometimes the work load may be a lot but it really does help for tests to actually complete all of the homework. If you don't understand something, don't be afraid to ask! Not understanding something can really lead to you not getting other things since everything builds off of other things.
