    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course for people to take as soon as possible because the amount of content forces students to come up with great study techniques and time management skills.

    Course highlights:

The most important thing I got from this class was not the actual history, rather how to handle such large amounts of content and how to distribute my time evenly and how to study efficiently.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Flashcards are very helpful, keep them divided by period for studying before the AP exam.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would highly recommend taking AP United States History. This class helps students gain insight into the history of the United States and how we got to where we are today. Mr. Marx is a great teacher and prepared his class extremely well for the AP test. This AP class was the first one I was able to score a 3 on, and now an receive a college history credit.

    Course highlights:

Analysis of primary documents was a huge learning experience in this course. For each document we analyzed the historical context, audience, point of view, purpose, and significance. Analysis of these documents helped connect the content being learned to who and what it related to.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

To ensure maximum success, future students will need to complete nightly homework assignments while keeping up with reading the textbook. Although textbook reading may not be assigned, doing so will help you understand material that you may not have covered well enough during class time. If a student took at least 30 minutes a night to go over the chapter they're working on in their textbook, this will ensure they pass the AP test and pass the class. Doing so will also increase a students test scores.
