    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I have to admit, Chemistry is a really tough class that requires time and effort as well as much study time. Professor Jones really knows her stuff and is a great teacher. She works with you and answers any questions you may have. If you are going into a STEM major, this class is for you. I hate chemistry, but labs are the thing I love most about chem. I wish it was a subject I could just pick up but I really had to study, and my grade really thanked me for that.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this class was the different labs the entire class did. You work with a partner, who you end up becoming great friends with, and you both get your apparatus set up and materials needed for the experiment. Different acids, chemicals, and reactions are formed in the lab, and it's just so much fun and very interesting to watch it all come together before your eyes. Testing sulfates and phosphates, finding an unknown, and seeing what reacts with what really helps apply what you learn in the classroom to what you do in the lab.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Study, study, study. All you need to do to succeed in this course is to attend all lectures, take specific notes on the lectures, and study for quizzes and tests. If you do the homework before the quizzes you usually do fairly well. The tests are more comprehensive and practice problems are a must to pass the tests. If you just go over the notes on things you don't understand and apply that to practice problems as well as studying with a friend in the class, you will succeed.
