    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It is a fast-paced course that encourages students to discover new things in class, but to also look for and find new material outside of the classroom. She gives students a taste of what they can find if they simply look for it.

    Course highlights:

When I was taking the course, we went through a lot of poetry and stories from around the 1700's or further. We would take excerpts from a story or poem, "translate" them into what we thought they would mean using modern words, and then try and write a poem with a similar meaning. We would also analyze the structure of poems and how to write them properly- not just with feeling, but also with the proper style.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would recommend that any student considering this course be ready to put in good effort. This isn't a class to slack off in. You need to pay attention and be ready to answer questions at any point. I cannot stress enough the seriousness of paying attention. Also, when homework is assigned, study the material!! It's most likely a way to prepare you for a test. When homework isn't assigned, know that your responsibility is being tested, and you should study anyway.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend Advanced Placement Language and Composition because it is a class that prepares students to use the power of language and persuasion to convince an audience and get messages across. Also, the class extends beyond the classroom as most lessons involve real world situations and global knowledge and information.

    Course highlights:

Highlights of the course would be learning how to write effective essays and how to relate a person's writing to the rest of the world and the people that live in it. I learned how to make my writing and my arguments successful to the reader and the audience.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I would tell students to try their best to do the work and to always watch and read current events so that the can discuss it in class the next day. I would also advise that students would practice their writing and persuasion skills to make them more prepared for the course and the Advanced Placement exam.
