    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend it as its a challenging course which requires previous chemistry knowledge and intense work ethic.

    Course highlights:

I think the best thing about this class is the fun teacher experience where he always makes sure we learn our material while also making this class appealing and fun to be in.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

This ap class is not a class where it's a free GPA booster. You need to put effort and consideration into this course as its your family because once you forget about it, it's lost.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would highly recommend this course to any sophomores or juniors who are curious about how the world works. AP chemistry taught me how everything operates on a molecular scale and the inter-relatedness of everything.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were being able to ask my teacher, Mr. Metting, so many questions about various topics and learning beyond the scope of the curriculum. This class taught me a lot about the molecular world and various chemical processes. The labs were extremely fun and you will also learn how to write proper lab reports, an important skill for college. One highlight was the titration lab we completed, which tool several class periods, and another fun assignment was a research project we had.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you can connect material you learned in one chapter to information from other chapters because chemistry is very interconnected and topic somewhat build on each other. Try to do practice problems as well because there is a lot of math involved, and you need to be able to work quickly to finish on time. Study!

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It is such an interesting class. The teacher explains the content well and can be quite humorous at times. You also learn about the atoms interact with each other and why elements have certain properties or why electrons act a certain way.

    Course highlights:

I have learned about a plethora of topics regarding AP Chemistry. One of my favorites is titration, where we also did a lab. It was so cool to see the solutions change different colors and calculate it, seeing that our calculations were close to the actual measurements.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

One major piece of advice is to not procrastinate and be proactive. Deadlines may seem far away but they come quick. In order to perform well on tests, you must study in advance so you absorb the material. With cramming, you have a slim chance of succeeding. Also, be proactive and read the textbook on your own. He will not check homework at times, but it is your responsibility to do it and ask questions if you don’t understand it.
