    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It was a challenging course. I loved it because I got to learn all about Europe which tells us a lot about Europe today but I also got to watch history unfold in a way shows how the world works today. It was extremely interesting

    Course highlights:

I loved listening to the stories Mrs. Newmark told. She would go into detail occasionally about specific events and it was very cool because she knows a lot.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Do all your homework. Don't skip it. Ever. Also take every assignment seriously. You never know what they could ask you on the AP test and it is most likely something you only spent a day on. So make sure you pay attention 100% of the time.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This is a pretty standard history course, but the thing that makes it special is that the teacher really explores all areas. She always makes sure to include things on art and literature, in addition to the standard methods of historical analysis.

    Course highlights:

The teacher has these small assignments where the students portray a certain person from European history. Aside from being loads of fun, this activity offers insight into a variety of perspectives that might otherwise be off limits. That's probably the most valuable skill I learned in this class: how to incorporate many perspectives on one topic without assigning one in particular more truth and value.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure to do all of the required reading (and the non-required stuff too if you have time). Although the teacher goes over pretty much everything in class, she expects the students to have basic knowledge from the reading. Additionally, the source documents given are very helpful in gaining insight into new perspectives. Above all, try to participate as best you can--it's more fun for everyone that way.
