    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Mrs. Carter was an outstanding teacher! She was very helpful and encouraging. The course itself was enjoyable. We had a small class, so we could engage in personal discussions and everyone could contribute. The literature we studied was interesting and although we mainly wrote essays, there was much opportunity to have fun and be creative.

    Course highlights:

I took this course in high school as dual enrollment, so as a high school student, this course really helped me prepare for what is to be expected of me in college. We studied how to use MLA format the correct way and we strengthened our skills of analysis through research papers and an essay on Hamlet. We also studied different genres and styles of writing.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Do NOT procrastinate! There will be tons of essays and content to read, so don't slack off. Just suck it up and get the work done and you'll have a great time.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Pressler was an amazing English instructor! She would take the time in class to make sure everyone's questions were answered in complete detail. Also, she is the adviser of the Honors Program at South Florida State College, making her perfectly able to recognize a student for his/her accomplishments.

    Course highlights:

I learned that I needed to start over in learning English for college and Dr. Pressler was someone who was willing to help me. I enjoyed how very open minded she is and how she likes to challenge her students.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Remember to write down the page numbers in the book when she tells you, it will help a lot when you do your homework. Also, ask questions if you do not understand what she is saying, she is more than happy to go into detail.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend it because it really helps those who have trouble with writing and those who want to improve.

    Course highlights:

I learned to be specific with my writing, to take my time when writing, to not write for a long period of time and instead take breaks, and to speak in front of a class with ease.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Take your time when writing. Do not rush and take breaks. Always go back and revise what you've written because there is always going to be a mistake that you easily miss, we're humans.
